Here at Urban Reach, we have been trying to start up a new inner city camp for youth in deprived areas, which would cost only £15-£20 most said it would never happen and it was looking like it. That’s why it was on hold for the lack of getting equipment and funding.
But with prayer and Gods helping hand, I got a call from the Army here in Edinburgh who had heard about what we were trying to do and they have given just about everything we need.
All most everything, but they gave us enough kit that we could trade it off for things that we did need and that’s what we did.

Our goal is to give support to families who would love their kids to be part of this but yet need help getting them there.

“As a father of five kids, I love sharing my survival techniques from my Army background and going on family adventures together. It is not only exciting and fun but teaches them useful life and outdoor skills and what it really means to be able to look after yourself when things go bad.                                                                                           AT URBAN REACH CAMP EXTREME

We have a combination of survival skills and adventure tasks that will put the teens and kids to the test. Designed to inspire not only them but their fathers and mothers.

There will be a range of instructors, each with their own challenges and skills to teach on any activities we do with them. Barry Train, a highly experienced instructor and his team will oversee all aspects of health, risk and safety throughout the camps.

IN TEAM THEY WILL LEARN

TRANSFERABLE SKILLS like Problem Solving, Working in a team, Communication, Confidence Building, Spiritual Awareness.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  LOCATION

The Pentland Hills in Edinburgh area. The terrain itself brings its own challenges and therefore many of the special forces train at this location.

THE EXPERIENCE

This is not a military boot camp and it may feel like one but it’s much, much more than a bushcraft course. This is an opportunity to learn new skills, meet personal and team challenges in an exciting and fun environment.

IT will be GOD centred were we will talk about Guidance on biblical issues, Our salvation through Grace, Designer of creation.

WHO CAN GO

Ages P6 and upwards. Each camp will be age specific. Open to individuals, organisations, churches etc.

The first camp is full. Depending on demand it is hoped to run camps every two months.
